Alastair Clive

Country of origin: UK
Alastair is from Scotland and has been working for EF Tianjin CLT for about two years. He loves living in China, especially at a time when China is changing so rapidly, and considers business English teaching to be the most enjoyable job he has ever done. Alastair has a CELTA teaching certificate and before joining CLT he spent about a year teaching business English in Rome. Before turning to teaching, Alastair worked as a lawyer in the UK for more than 15 years. Alastair is enjoying the teaching life so much that he is not at present sure when, if at all, he will return to legal practice. Alastair aims to having a professional but relaxed and friendly approach to lessons, focusing on building fluency and confidence and addressing grammar and pronunciation issues whenever necessary. He also enjoys teaching the range of business skills necessary to help students progress in their careers.
Ryan Beguhn
BA; JD(Law); TEFL ICAL; TKT
Country of origin: USA
Ryan studied Law at Columbia University and worked for 10 years as a lawyer before training to become a ESL teacher. He likes connecting with people and helping people achieve their language learning goals. In his classes he likes to focus on transitioning students from the formal textbook English they have learned to authentic spoken English.
